Each canvas is a hand made creation of an ornate relief plaster pattern applied on a box canvas frame surface. Sahara`s huge repertoire of patterns are inspired by and reminiscent of Japanese katagami and kimono patterns, as well as traditional and contemporary English wallpapers and include include flora and fauna, architectural and organic themes.
Sahara also creates hand printed patterned homeware fabrics using her hand drawn and carved lino and vintage blocks.
Her influences are strongly flavoured by Indian, japanese and South-East Asian culture, and she is a fan of floral form and intricate pattern.
